After the success of the training given to the lawyers of Tripoli on the Right to Treatment as an Alternative to Prosecution, we took the training to 30 lawyers from the Beirut Bar Association.
Me. Karim Nammour and The Head of the Drug Addiction Committee and Judge Rima Khalil highlighted the role of lawyers in the protection and promotion of the rights of people who use drugs in Lebanon.
Skoun further stressed on participants the necessity for them to advocate for the implementation of article 194 of the law on drugs and the State Public Prosecutor’s circular of 2018 by insisting on the referral of their clients to the Drug Addiction Committee from the onset of arrest.
